Description:

FA-PEG-COOH is one of reactive folate PEG derivatives that have a folic acid on one terminusof PEG chain and a carboxylic (-COOH) group on the other. Folic acid is alsoknown as vitamin M, vitamin B9 or pteroyl-L-glutamic acid. Folic acid is an essentialbioactive molecule for numerous biological functions. It participates in thesynthesis, repairing and methylation of DNA as well as to act as a cofactor in manybiological reactions. Carboxylic acid functionalized folic acid PEG allows theattachment of folic acid to other molecules and materials quickly andefficiently through reaction between COOH and other groups, such as amine,hydryoxyl, etc. PEG linker between COOH and folate offers with higher watersolubility, less steric hindrance and better reactivity.
