Cy5fluorophore emits strong near infrared fluorescent light upon excited at 650 nmwhile amine can react with a variety of amine reactive groups such assuccinimidyl NHS ester, aldehyde, etc. Reaction between amine and other groupsallows the labeling and conjugation of Cy5 PEG to the surface of proteins,antibodies or particles.
